It would be useful to have a tool where participants go up or down a difficulty level depending on their score on a block of trials. E.g. if they score 90% correct in the 1-back n-back block would progress participants onto 2-back for the next block. At present this requires either a lot of spreadsheets or an ability to code!

With the release of the new Task Builder (Task Builder 2), we're adding components specifically for staircasing procedures (with no coding required!). At the moment, the Change Difficulty (Spreadsheet) component sounds like it would be most suitable for your use case. When the participant reaches a required threshold, they can be switched to a spreadsheet containing the 2-back trials etc. We'll be adding further options, such as stepping-up/down a specific value or set of values, as well as jumping to a specific place in a single spreadsheet, in the coming weeks.
