I'm truly dismayed that Gorilla doesn't have any language choice for any of the content that participants receive/see, such as delay emails, screen notifications, etc. I understand translating your whole website and interface for users is a big project, but you need to either allow users to customize what participants encounter or have translated versions available to choose from. In addition, the Task and other Builder features should support fonts for other languages. It appears that Arabic and similar fonts are particularly problematic at the moment.
If I sound overly peeved about this, it's because this kind of omission on the part of platform creators is holding back research in meaningful ways, usually to the detriment of populations that are already at an economic and/or political disadvantage. It also limits how many researchers will use your platform. For now, I can't recommend it to any of my colleagues because, even in the UK, there are too many participants who would need communications in a language other than English, and trying to work around that is just too much work.
If you really want your service to make money
and
a difference in the world, give us language choice.
Based on what I see in this forum, at least 32 individual users have asked for this on 5 different posts over the past 5 years (Nov-20, Jan-21, Apr-21, Aug-23, and Nov-24). You've adjusted a lot of other things since then. What's the hold up? Even rolling out a few languages a month would make a huge difference. Or (even better) once a month, allow one new feature to be customized and support all fonts. I'm sure there are many users who would volunteer to check automatic translations and test each feature.
Please, PLEASE prioritize this!
Thank you for your time and consideration.
