Currently, in Game Builder, participants can only submit a typed response in the Single Text Entry component by clicking the built-in Submit button. Pressing the Enter/Return key does not work to submit the response and advance the scene.
This can make multi-trial tasks feel cumbersome, as participants must click twice (to focus the box and then to submit). Allowing the Enter key to function as a submission shortcut—just like clicking the button—would improve usability and participant experience, especially for tasks involving repeated text entry.
It would be ideal if pressing Enter both:
  1. Saved the typed response (just like the Submit button does now), and
2.Triggered the same “advance scene” action as clicking Submit.
Alternatively, if technical limitations prevent this within the current component, enabling a way to save multiple responses on the same screen (e.g. the text entry and a keypress) could also help.
